KU, ACP Karachi inks MoU to create creative data bank under Youth Ambassador Program

The University of Karachi and the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, signed the memorandum of understanding on Tuesday to create a creative data bank in the metropolis under the ACP Karachi’s Youth Ambassador Program.
The MoU aims to provide a strong platform for the growth, empowerment, and unity of youngsters so that they can use their abilities, capacities, and skills to bring positive change in society through their ideas, creativity, and knowledge-based attitudes.
On this occasion, the President of ACP Karachi Mohammad Ahmed Shah shared that the YAP would help in shaping the minds and thinking of our youth. The ACP would provide training to students in different domains and engage experts to enhance their leadership qualities.
He mentioned that under the YAP, students would also meet different communities to learn about their lifestyles, cultures, and problems and then share possible solutions to those issues. The ACP Karachi would work on youngsters’ input to bring positive changes in the country.
Ahmed Shah believes that by engaging a large number of students ACP Karachi would also be able to form a job bank and provide required experts in the relevant fields.
The KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi welcomed the YAP idea and said that this platform would engage students from different backgrounds at one stage and these youngsters would learn a lot from each other’s experiences.
He mentioned that the KU and the ACP Karachi have been collaborating for many years and this will be a new chapter in their working relationship. The KU has a students’ center policy and we would like to find new ventures for them so that they could learn outside from the books as well.
“We need to develop a tolerant society and our youngsters can bring this change in society and YAP can be a very helpful platform in this regard.” He announced that all students’ societies of the varsity and students would take an active part in the YAP and other student’s oriented projects and schemes.
The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi and the President ACP Karachi Mohammad Ahmed Shah inked the MoU during a ceremony held at the KU Secretariat. The deans, Students’ Advisor Dr Nosheen Raza, members of the central students advisory council, presidents and members of different students bodies, and Sohail Hashmi and Deputy Director YAP Aziab Khan from ACP Karachi, and others were present during the MoU signing ceremony.
