Adam Peaty Breaks Silence on ‘Deeply Hurtful’ Family Feud Ahead of Wedding to Holly Ramsay

Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay have spoken publicly about a family dispute that has overshadowed preparations for their Christmas wedding.

The Olympic swimmer released a statement on Instagram saying that recent coverage had been “deeply hurtful and upsetting”, adding that much of what had been said about the couple had been “one sided”. He said the situation had been made worse by comments from members of his own family.

Peaty explained that he could not address every rumour because of “an ongoing police investigation into serious matters that arose long before recent events”. He also said his sister Bethany had been targeted online as speculation grew.

In the message, Peaty thanked those who know him personally for their support, saying he was continuing to focus on self-improvement and on being a good partner, father, friend and athlete. He emphasised that he and Holly were not asking for sympathy but hoped people would remember there are “always two sides to every story”.

Holly Ramsay, daughter of chef Gordon Ramsay, has not commented publicly beyond the joint message. The couple, who have been together since 2023 and announced their engagement last year, are preparing to marry over the Christmas period in the UK.

The Instagram statement appears to be an effort to address the growing public discussion around the family tensions while keeping the details private in the lead-up to their wedding.
