American Pie actress Tara Reid hospitalised after alleged drink tampering

Actress Tara Reid, who has also appeared in films such as The Big Lebowski and Sharknado, was hospitalised early on 23 November 2025 after being seen on a stretcher in the lobby of a hotel near Chicago.

The incident took place at a DoubleTree hotel in Rosemont, where Reid had checked in on Saturday evening. She later said she left her drink at the bar to step outside and, on returning, found a napkin covering her glass. Shortly after drinking it, she began to feel unwell and later woke up in hospital. Paramedics were called shortly after midnight.

Video footage from the lobby showed Reid appearing disoriented as she was assisted by hotel staff before being transported by ambulance.

A representative for the actress said she believes her drink was tampered with and that a police report has been filed. He added that she is cooperating with authorities and has asked for privacy while encouraging others to remain cautious and keep their drinks in sight. Local police have confirmed that an incident was reported at the hotel, but have not publicly confirmed any details of foul play at this stage.
