Jaya Bachchan pushes man for taking selfie with her

WEB DESK: Veteran actor and Samajwadi MP Jaya Bachchan, often in the spotlight for her blunt public reactions, is once again making headlines after a video from Constitution Club in Delhi, where she was seen pushing a man who was trying to get a selfie with her.

In the clip, Jaya Bachchan wearing a red and white sari, angrily asks the man to step aside and also rebuffs him later asking, “What are you doing?”.

Jaya was arriving to participate in the INDIA bloc march to the Election Commission office.

Those supporting BJP took to X, saying that she could have refused or engaged but instead chose ‘violence’. Jaya Bachchan also criticised the BJP government for the name Operation Sindoor, stating that the violence widowed so many women so celebrating the symbol of marriage through that was in bad taste.

Earlier in April another of her clips at the prayer meet of actor-director Manoj Kumar went viral.

In that clip, Jaya was seen conversing with a group of women when an elderly woman taps her on the shoulder. As she turns, a man, likely accompanying the woman, attempts to take a photo with his phone. When the woman extends her hand for a handshake, Jaya pushes it aside and admonishes the man for trying to click pictures at such a solemn event.

That incident also sparked divided opinions online. Some accused her of being unnecessarily harsh, while supporters argued her reaction was justified given the setting.
