Texas Neighbour Indicted for Murder of ‘King of the Hill’ Voice Actor Jonathan Joss

A Texas man has been indicted over the killing of King of the Hill actor Jonathan Joss, best known for voicing the character John Redcorn on the long-running animated series.

A Bexar County grand jury charged 57-year-old Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez with murder following the shooting, which took place outside Joss’s San Antonio home on 1 June. Joss, who was 59, was found with critical injuries and later died.

Police said Joss and the suspect were neighbours and had a history of disputes. The investigation remains active as prosecutors prepare the case for trial. Alvarez is currently free on bond.

Joss had a decades-long career in television and film, appearing in Parks and RecreationTulsa King and the animated feature Rango, alongside his work on King of the Hill. News of the indictment has renewed attention on the case, with fans and colleagues reflecting on his contributions to the industry.

Authorities have not released any additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
