Beheaded body of 10-year-old boy found in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: The beheaded body of a 10-year-old boy was recovered from a seasonal stream in the Icherrian refugee camp area of Baffa on Tuesday , police said.

The victim, identified as Sufiyan, had been missing since the Monday morning. He had come from Karachi to visit his maternal grandfather in Baffa.

According to the victim’s family, a neighbour had lured the child out of the house under the pretext of showing him a dog. When he did not return by nightfall, the family lodged a missing person’s report at the Baffa police station.

On Tuesday morning, his beheaded body was found in a nearby nullah, bearing signs of torture and alleged damage to sensitive parts. The boy’s mother identified the body from his clothing.

Police said the boy’s head was still missing and a search was underway.

District Police Officer (DPO) Mansehra Shafiullah Gandapur took notice of the incident and dispatched SP City Resham Jahangir to the site along with DSP Shahjahan Khan and SHO Shujaat Qureshi, who began gathering evidence and overseeing the investigation.

A large police contingent reached the scene and cordoned off the area. Forensic evidence was collected as investigators widened the scope of the probe, considering multiple angles.

DPO Gandapur directed the investigation team to use all available evidence, technical resources, and intelligence to arrest the perpetrators without delay.

Calling the incident “deeply tragic and intolerable”, he assured the public that justice would be ensured at all costs.

12-year-old boy beaten to death in Madrassa

In another tragic incident of crimes against children, a young student of a madrassa died after he was brutally tortured for five hours by his teachers sparking outrage in the Swat area of Khawazakhela.

The enraged relatives and citizens of the area blocked the main Khwazakhela Bazaar road in Swat and demanded immediate punishment for the involved teachers

A fellow student narrating the ordeal revealed that three teachers took turns torturing the child inside a locked room.
