In a major development, the Lahore District Court has rejected popular YouTuber Saad Ur Rehman, aka Ducky Bhai’s, request to regain control of his YouTube channel and mobile phones, while ordering the return of some of his personal belongings.
The decision came after a hearing regarding items and accounts seized from Ducky Bhai during his custody. Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo announced the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides.
The court allowed 19 items recovered during a comprehensive search to be returned. These include bank cards, identity cards, a laptop bag, a GoPro camera, and other personal belongings.
During the hearing, the prosecutor pointed out that Ducky Bhai had already uploaded eight videos despite his account being part of an ongoing case. The Assistant Director of NCCIA expressed concern that the YouTuber might delete or tamper with videos related to the case.
Ducky Bhai assured the court that he had submitted an affidavit promising that no videos would be altered, explaining that the videos were uploaded by his editor, a friend living in Hyderabad.
The court also questioned the NCCIA Director about account access, to which the director replied that some account owners do not provide editors full access, which is why the situation arose.
While Ducky Bhai will not regain control of his YouTube channel for now, the return of his personal belongings offers some relief
