LAHORE: Several motorways were closed on Sunday across Punjab as dense fog blanketed the province, with authorities warning motorists to avoid unnecessary travel and strictly follow safety guidelines

According to National Highway & Motorway Police spokespersons, the closures were implemented due to the reduced visibility caused by the dense fog.

Heavy vehicles on M-2 are barred from travelling between Lahore and Kot Momin.

The stretch from Faizpur to Jaranwala on M-3 is closed due to fog.

Similarly, heavy vehicles on M-4 are advised to avoid the route between Pindi Bhattian and Abdul Hakim.

The Lahore–Sialkot M-11 motorway has also been temporarily closed for all vehicles.

Motorway police warn that lane violations in fog can lead to serious accidents and advise motorists to travel only between 10 AM and 6 PM.

Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and will reopen the routes once visibility improves, urging motorists to drive safely.
