Eight Khawarij killed in Tank gunfight


RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed eight members of Indian-sponsored Fitna al-Khawarij in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

During the operation, the ISPR said, troops effectively engaged the Khawarij locations and sent eight of them to hell after an intense fire exchange.

Fitna al-Khawarij is the term used to list TTP and other terrorist groups, which Indian has been promoting continuously.

Similarly, Fitna al-Hindustan is reserved for the likes of BLA, enjoying support from India and using Afghanistan as a base to carry out terrorism acts in Balochistan.

According to the ISPR, security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition were from the killed Khawarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces and law enforcement agencies as well as killing of innocent civilians.

The military’s media wing said that they were conducting a sanitization operation to eliminate any other Khawarij found in the area.

It also promised that security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country under a relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam”, which the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan had approved.

In their reaction, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for their professionalism and vowed to eradiate terrorism from Pakistan.
