ISLAMABAD: Holly Willoughby has pleaded guilty to knocking a rider off their scooter and while driving and breaking his neck.
The former Dancing on Ice star didnt appear at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court for short hearing on Tuesday morning, according to Per MailOnline.
She was accused of committing the offence at the wheel of her £25,000 Mini Cooper on Aug 28. She was driving without due care and attention after knocking a rider off his scooter and breaking his neck, the issued verdict said.
The rider of the scooter suffered a fracture to their neck and a broken toe, following his knocking to the floor.
While defending Willoughby, Aisling Byrnes said, she suffered a “momentary lapse judgement.”
“The driver intended to turn right, which she did without signaling, causing the rider to be thrown from his motorbike. The accident resulted in a C7 fracture and a broken toe for the rider”.
“I have a statement from the victim, who was riding his white Piaggio scooter approximately 180 metres before the traffic lights, which were showing red at the time.”
He said “I was traveling at around 20 mph and slowing down to stop. As I reached the level of the black Mini Cooper, the driver turned right without indicating to enter the road, which caused me to be thrown to the ground in the carriageway.”
