‘Let’s get the facts right’: Cruz Beckham addresses Brooklyn blocking family

WEB DESK: Cruz Beckham has stepped in to quash swirling rumours of a growing rift within the Beckham household, firmly rejecting claims that his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, had unfollowed their eldest son, Brooklyn, on social media.

Taking to Instagram Stories on Saturday, December 20, Cruz directly addressed reports suggesting his parents had distanced themselves from Brooklyn online amid alleged family tensions. “NOT TRUE,” he wrote emphatically. “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son. Let’s get the facts right.”

Moments later, Cruz added a startling clarification, claiming that the situation unfolded the other way around. “They woke up blocked… as did I,” he said, implying that Brooklyn had blocked his parents and siblings before the unfollowing became visible.

As of December 21, Brooklyn does not appear to follow any immediate family members on Instagram, including David, Victoria, and his siblings Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Likewise, the rest of the family is not following Brooklyn. The disconnect extends further, with Brooklyn’s wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, also not following her in-laws or Brooklyn’s siblings, nor being followed by them.

Brooklyn has yet to publicly address the claims, and neither David nor Victoria Beckham have commented directly. However, a spokesperson for Victoria Beckham confirmed to People that Cruz was responding to inaccurate media reports, stressing that the narrative suggesting David and Victoria had unfollowed their son was false.

Cruz appeared particularly frustrated by what he described as misleading coverage. By reposting screenshots of media stories, including one from the Daily Mail, he reiterated his determination to correct the record and prevent speculation from spiralling further.

This episode adds fuel to long-standing rumours of tension within the famous family. Speculation first intensified in May, when an insider told E! News that strains may have emerged during Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in April 2022, following an awkward moment involving Marc Anthony and Victoria Beckham.

For now, silence from Brooklyn continues — but Cruz’s intervention has made one thing clear: the Beckhams want the truth, not the rumours, to take centre stage.
