Masjid-e-Nabawi muezzin Sheikh Faisal Noman passes away, laid to rest at Jannat al-Baqi

WEB DESK: Sheikh Faisal Noman, a muezzin of Masjid-e-Nabawi, has passed away and was laid to rest at the historic Jannat al-Baqi cemetery in Madinah after the Fajr prayers.

According to the mosque’s administration, Sheikh Faisal Noman died on December 23. He was appointed as a muezzin at Masjid-e-Nabawi in 2001 and had been associated with the sacred mosque for more than two decades. The mosque administration also shared a video of his final azaan.

Saudi media reported that calling the azaan was a long-standing family tradition for Sheikh Faisal and both his father and grandfather had also served as muezzins at Masjid-e-Nabawi.

His father was appointed as a muezzin at the age of just 14 and continued performing the duty for over 90 years. Following his father’s death, Sheikh Faisal assumed the responsibility and carried forward the family legacy.

Sheikh Dr Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of religious affairs at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid-e-Nabawi, expressed deep sorrow over Sheikh Faisal Noman’s passing. He extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of the deceased’s ranks and for his forgiveness.
