WEB DESK: Pakistan has reiterated its support for diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in Yemen, stressing the importance of dialogue, restraint and respect for the country’s unity and territorial integrity.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan was closely monitoring recent developments in Yemen and remained committed to supporting initiatives that could lead to a sustainable political settlement.
“Pakistan fully supports diplomatic efforts for peace and stability in Yemen,” the spokesperson said, adding that Islamabad appreciated the role being played by the United Arab Emirates in advancing dialogue and reconciliation.
Call for restraint and dialogue
The Foreign Office urged all parties involved in the conflict to avoid unilateral actions that could further escalate tensions or undermine ongoing peace efforts.
“There is a strong expectation that all sides will exercise restraint and refrain from steps that could aggravate the situation,” the spokesperson said.
Emphasising the need for a negotiated political solution, Pakistan called on the Yemeni parties to engage in constructive dialogue in good faith to reach a mutually acceptable outcome.
Support for Yemen’s unity and people
The spokesperson underlined Pakistan’s consistent position in favour of Yemen’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, noting that lasting peace could only be achieved through an inclusive and Yemeni-led process.
Islamabad expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic initiatives would translate into concrete steps towards durable peace and help alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, who have endured years of conflict and humanitarian hardship.
“Pakistan hopes these diplomatic efforts will not only lead to sustainable peace but also contribute to easing the difficulties faced by the people of Yemen,” the statement said.
Pakistan has repeatedly voiced support for regional and international efforts to resolve the Yemen conflict through dialogue, reaffirming its belief that political solutions, rather than military means, remain the only viable path to lasting stability.
