DUBAI: Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has congratulated the Pakistan Under-19 cricket team on their remarkable victory over arch-rivals India in the Under-19 Asia Cup final held on December 21 in Dubai.
In his statement, Chairman Naqvi praised the team for their brilliant performance, noting that they outplayed their traditional rivals with skill and determination. He singled out Sameer Minhas’s outstanding batting as a key factor in Pakistan’s triumph.
He emphasised that the victory was the result of excellent strategy, teamwork, and strong performances across batting, bowling, and fielding, culminating in a well-deserved win. Chairman Naqvi added that this success is a proud and joyful moment for cricket fans nationwide and highlighted that the PCB’s continued investment in rising stars has clearly paid off.
Sarfraz Ahmed–center of attention
Meanwhile, Sarfraz Ahmed has once again grabbed the headlines, this time as the mentor and manager of Pakistan’s Under-19 side. His guidance proved crucial in the emphatic win over India.

Looking back, Sarfraz has an impressive record against India in finals. Under his captaincy, Pakistan defeated India in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup final and again in the 2017 Champions Trophy final.

Now, as mentor and manager, Sarfraz led the youngsters to victory in the Asia Cup final, proving once again why he remains a central figure in Pakistan cricket—both on and off the field.
