Peshawar blast: CTD identifies suicide bomber

PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has released a preliminary report detailing the Peshawar explosion.

According to the CTD, both the suicide bomber, who was killed in the blast, and the injured terrorist have been identified.

The suicide bomber hailed from Dir and was temporarily residing in the Tehkal area of Peshawar, stated the CTD.

Following the blast, an extensive investigation was launched, and upon the injured terrorist regaining consciousness, crucial details emerged, the CTD said.

It was revealed that the terrorists were en route to their target with 5 kilograms of explosive material.

Furthermore, the CTD disclosed that the motorcycle used in the explosion was traced through its chassis number, aiding in the investigative process.

The tragic incident, occurring near the Board Bazaar in Peshawar early Sunday morning, resulted in the loss of at least two lives, with one individual sustaining injuries, as confirmed by officials.
