ISLAMABAD: On Monday, the weather is expected to be cold and dry in most parts of Pakistan, while the upper regions will see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions. Notably, strong winds and thundershowers are anticipated in north/western Balochistan, and moderate to heavy fog will likely affect the plain districts of Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning and night hours.

Going region by region, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cold and dry weather will prevail in Islamabad and nearby areas, with partly cloudy skies throughout the day. Temperatures are expected to remain on the chillier side, with a slight chance of cloud cover.

Cold weather will dominate most parts of Punjab, while the upper districts will experience partly cloudy skies. Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding regions will also remain cold and partly cloudy. In cities like Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Jhang, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Multan, and many others, moderate to heavy fog is expected to blanket the area during the morning and night, reducing visibility.

Weather conditions in Sindh will be cold and partly cloudy in most districts, including Karachi. Fog is likely to develop in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, and Shaheed Benazirabad during the early hours and late at night, causing visibility issues.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), temperatures will remain cold and partly cloudy, with the upper districts experiencing particularly cold weather. Light rain or snowfall is expected in Kohistan, Battagram, Chitral, and surrounding areas during the evening and night hours.

Balochistan will see cold and dry weather, with the northern areas experiencing extremely cold conditions. However, the central and southern regions, including Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, and several other areas, are expected to face strong winds and thundershowers in the evening and night. Snowfall is likely in mountainous areas.

Very cold and partly cloudy conditions are expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Light rain and snowfall are anticipated at a few locations, adding to the chill of the region.

As Pakistan braces for these weather conditions, residents are advised to take precautions, especially in areas affected by fog and thundershowers, and to prepare for a particularly cold start to the week.
