Samsung is preparing to expand its Galaxy A series with the upcoming Galaxy A37 5G, which has recently appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, revealing key details about the device. While the official launch date remains unannounced, the listing offers a glimpse of what the new smartphone may bring.

The device, listed under the model number SM-A376B, scored 1,158 points in the single-core test and 3,401 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. It runs Android 16 and comes with 5.08GB of RAM, likely marketed as 6GB.

The listing also points to an octa-core chipset with a 4+4 core configuration. Four high-performance cores are clocked at 2.75GHz, while the four efficiency cores run at up to 2.05GHz. These specifications align with Samsung’s in-house Exynos 1480 processor.

If confirmed, this would signal a shift in Samsung’s strategy, as the company appears to be integrating more of its own chipsets across the Galaxy A lineup. The Galaxy A36 5G, which the new model is expected to succeed, was launched earlier this year in India with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor.

The Galaxy A36 offered a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It carried a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 12-megapixel front shooter, and a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging support. The device also had an IP67 rating, providing dust and water resistance.

Details such as pricing, storage options, and additional features for the Galaxy A37 5G have yet to be confirmed. However, the Geekbench appearance hints at a capable mid-range phone with improved processing power and Samsung’s signature build quality.

As the launch approaches, more information is expected to emerge, giving fans a clearer picture of what Samsung has in store for its Galaxy A series this year
