Samsung could be preparing to bring back its popular Galaxy A7 series, three years after the last model, the Galaxy A73, hit the market in 2022. The A series is widely appreciated in Pakistan and other markets for offering solid performance at a more affordable price than flagship devices, making it a favourite among mid-range smartphone buyers.
Recent sightings on Geekbench suggest a new Samsung device, possibly called the Galaxy A77 5G, could be in the works. The listing, under the model number SM-A776B, points to the return of the A7 line and hints at a capable hardware setup.
The Geekbench data shows the device running a deca-core Exynos processor, featuring a combination of high-performance and efficient cores. The CPU setup includes three prime cores clocked at 2.78GHz, three performance cores at 2.30GHz, and four efficient cores at 1.82GHz. The GPU is the AMD RDNA-based Xclipse 940, previously used in Samsung’s flagship Exynos 2400 series, suggesting strong graphics performance for a mid-range phone.
The phone reportedly comes with 8GB of RAM and runs Android 16 with One UI 8.x. In preliminary benchmarks, it scored 1,673 in single-core and 5,697 in multi-core tests on Geekbench 6. These results indicate a significant performance boost over the current Galaxy A56, bringing it close to the capabilities of Samsung’s high-end Exynos 2400.
While the listing offers a detailed look at the hardware, Samsung has not confirmed the phone’s official name or launch date. There is a possibility the device may be launched as the Galaxy A77 or under a slightly different name, such as A7x. If real, the Galaxy A77 5G could target consumers seeking high-performance features at a price below the Galaxy S FE series, such as the Galaxy S25 FE.
In addition, the Galaxy A57 was recently spotted on Geekbench, hinting that Samsung’s mid-range lineup is gearing up for a broader refresh next year. Both devices could arrive alongside other A series models, continuing Samsung’s strategy of offering capable smartphones at competitive prices.
For now, Samsung fans will have to wait for official announcements, but the early leaks suggest an exciting return for the Galaxy A7 series.
