Shaheen Chowk underpass project nearing completion: CDA

WEB DESK: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa visited the Shaheen Chowk underpass project to review the pace and quality of ongoing construction work.

Officials briefed the chairman that more than 93 percent of the development work has been completed, with the project having entered its final stages ahead of the stipulated timeline. According to the briefing, all major structural work has been completed, while road construction and finishing work are progressing rapidly.

It was further shared that permanent decorative lighting is being installed to enhance the project’s aesthetics and ensure better visibility for motorists. The chairman expressed satisfaction over both the speed of work and the high construction standards being maintained.

Randhawa said the underpass was being completed ahead of schedule without compromising on quality. He reiterated that providing efficient and comfortable travel facilities to Islamabad’s residents remained a top priority for the CDA.

He added that once completed, the Shaheen Chowk underpass would significantly ease traffic congestion in the area, save commuters’ time and fuel, and contribute to smoother traffic flow across the city.
