WEB DESK: President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is set to arrive in Pakistan today on an official visit, during which he will hold talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, officials said on Friday.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit will feature a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders, followed by broader discussions reviewing all aspects of bilateral relations. The talks are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, while also covering regional and international developments.
A high-level delegation comprising UAE ministers and senior officials will accompany President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, underscoring the importance both sides attach to the visit.
Preparations to welcome the Emirati leader have been completed in the federal capital. Islamabad has been adorned with the national flags of Pakistan and the UAE, along with welcome banners, reflecting the significance of the visit and the close ties between the two countries.
This will be Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s first official visit to Pakistan since assuming office as President of the UAE.
The Foreign Office said the visit reflects the strong, longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE. Officials on both sides expect the talks to give fresh momentum to cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, energy and regional stability.
Pakistan and the UAE have traditionally enjoyed close political, economic and people-to-people ties, with millions of Pakistanis living and working in the Gulf state. The visit is seen as an opportunity to further deepen collaboration and explore new avenues for partnership at a time of evolving regional and global challenges.
