Viral moment turns dangerous: bride and groom hurt by exploding balloons

A wedding in India took a frightening turn when hydrogen-filled balloons, used during the couple’s grand Haldi entry, suddenly exploded, leaving both the bride and the groom burned.

According to reports, the couple had planned a dramatic entry: they held a bunch of large hydrogen balloons while friends and family set off coloured smoke guns around them. But in the chaos, one of the colour guns was accidentally pointed at the balloons, triggering a reaction that caused them to burst into flames.

In their Instagram post, the couple said they had never imagined that what was meant to be a “fun, trending” moment would become so dangerous. The bride, Tanyaa, suffered burns on her face and back, while the groom, Kushagra, was burned on his fingers and back. Their hair was also singed in the explosion.

Despite the shock, they continued their wedding functions and later shared a warning for others: prioritise safety over viral trends, they wrote.

Many on social media have responded strongly, calling the use of hydrogen balloons at celebrations “extremely unsafe.
