Why fighter jets were flying over Islamabad today

ISLAMABAD: Residents of Islamabad were taken by surprise on Wednesday as the PAF fighter jets were seen flying over different parts of the capital. The roar of F-16 aircraft echoed across the city, prompting curiosity and speculation among citizens, many of whom shared videos and photos on social media.

The reason behind the flights has now been clarified. According to official sources, the Pakistan Air Force was conducting rehearsal flights for a ceremonial flypast planned in connection with the official visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan.

Authorities emphasised that the activity was routine in nature and should not be linked to any security concerns or emergency. Such rehearsals are a standard procedure ahead of visits by high-level foreign dignitaries to ensure smooth coordination and flawless execution of official events.

Officials also urged the public to avoid spreading rumors and to treat the situation as normal, assuring citizens that there was no threat to public safety.
