LOS ANGELES: Social media users have been actively discussing reports surrounding Nick Reiner, the son of American filmmaker Rob Reiner, following claims that he was arrested in connection with the deaths of his parents, who were allegedly killed on December 14.

Here is what we know so far

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Nick Reiner has been officially charged in the murder case involving his parents and is currently being held in custody.

Officials said that on December 14, a heated argument reportedly took place at the family residence involving Nick Reiner, his father 78-year-old Rob Reiner, and his mother 68-year-old Michele Reiner. During the altercation, Rob and Michele Reiner were found with their throats slit, allegedly by a family member, as reported by TMZ.

Sources said Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were discovered at the scene, while their 28-year-old daughter, Romy, was searching for them. Romy later contacted authorities, who reportedly began to suspect Nick Reiner, citing concerns related to his past behavior and alleged drug addiction.

Nick Reiner was detained Sunday night after police discovered the bodies. He is currently being held on $4 million bail as the investigation continues.
