Dengue cases surge in the capital: 45 new cases in 24 Hours


ISLAMABAD: The capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, is grappling with a surge in dengue cases, with 45 new infections reported within the last 24 hours.

District Health Officer Zaeem Zia has confirmed the alarming increase. He said that the total number of dengue patients in the city has increased to 187.

In a statement, Zia said that more than one-third of these patients are male. Furthermore, out of the 45 new cases, a significant 29 have emerged from the rural areas of Islamabad, contributing to a total of 129 confirmed dengue cases in these regions.

Dengue reaches epidemic levels

Meanwhile, urban areas of Islamabad have reported a total of 58 individuals affected by dengue so far.

The District Health Office continues to monitor the situation closely and urges residents to take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their communities from the spread of dengue fever.
