Fourteen soldiers martyred as terrorists ambush security forces in Gwadar: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: At least 14 army soldiers were martyred in an ambush when two security forces vehicles were attacked by terrorists in Balochistan’s Gwadar district.

As per the military’s public relations wing the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident occurred as the vehicles were in transit from Pasni to Ormara.

In the wake of the “unfortunate incident,” 14 soldiers were martyred, the ISPR said.

The ISPR stated that a sanitization operation is currently underway in the area, with a commitment to tracking down and bringing the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.

It emphasized the unwavering determination of Pakistan’s security forces to eradicate the scourge of terrorism from the country, underscoring that “the sacrifices of our valiant soldiers further fortify our resolve.”

Meanwhile, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has condemned terrorist attacks in Dera Ismail Khan and Pasni.

In his tweet, he said: “I am grieved by the heinous terrorist attacks in Dera Ismail Khan & Pasni which took precious lives of our brave soldiers. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the martyrs. Their sacrifices will not be in vain. We shall continue our unwavering fight against the forces aiming to destabilize our country.”

Meanwhile, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani also condemned the attack on the security forces.

In his tweet, he said: “Strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on our soldiers which resulted in the martyrdom of 14 brave sons of the soil. Such acts are utterly reprehensible. Our thoughts and prayers are with families of the martyred and injured. Pakistan stands resolute against terrorists.”
