PESHAWAR: Concerns loom over a potential shortage of fodder in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as untimely rains and floods wreak havoc on agricultural lands. Reports indicate that 43 per cent of fodder fields in Peshawar have been severely affected by the adverse weather conditions.

Areas such as Mian Gujjar, Shah Alam, Ashab Baba, and others have witnessed significant damage to fodder crops due to the unexpected rainfall and flooding.

According to data from the Crop Reporting Service of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, fodder was cultivated across 13,463 acres of land in Peshawar, with a substantial portion—5,859 acres—suffering damage as a result of the adverse weather.

Similar challenges have been reported in other regions of the province, including DI Khan, Bannu, and Lower Dir, where hundreds of acres of fodder have been affected.

The situation is particularly dire along the Khyali River and Darya Kabul, where fodder fields have been completely destroyed, exacerbating concerns of a potential fodder shortage, especially with Eid-ul-Adha approaching.
