Saudi Navy Chief meets Pakistani counterpart at Naval Headquarters

ISLAMABAD: Vice Admiral Abdul Rahman Al Ghurabi, Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, met Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters on Monday.

Upon arrival, the Saudi Navy Chief was presented with a guard of honour by the Pakistan Navy’s parade squad, a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, and bilateral cooperation. Admiral Naveed Ashraf briefed Vice Admiral Al Ghurabi on the Pakistan Navy’s ongoing initiatives for regional peace and maritime security, including Regional Maritime Security Patrols.

Vice Admiral Al Ghurabi acknowledged the Pakistan Navy’s role in maintaining maritime stability and noted the standard of training provided to Saudi cadets at the Pakistan Naval Academy.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening defense ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, the statement said. The visit is expected to contribute to enhanced cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the military domain.
