KARACHI: NIDO HUM Spelling Whizz , Pakistan’s most exciting spelling competition, successfully wrapped up another campus drive at The Next School. The students of The Next School in the FB Area of the city participated with enthusiasm, curiosity, and excitement.

According to the organisers, the interactive sessions aimed to prepare young learners for the upcoming competition while giving them a glimpse of the challenges and opportunities ahead. The event witnessed strong engagement from students, who showcased their talent and eagerness to excel on the national stage.

Registrations for the competition remain open for children aged 6-17 years, giving students across the country an opportunity to test their spelling skills, build confidence, and become part of a prestigious national platform.

Earlier, in a landmark initiative to promote literacy and language learning among Pakistan’s youth, HUM News and Nestlé NIDO (Pakistan) had jointly launched the Nestlé NIDO HUM Spelling Whizz, spearheaded under the “HUM in Education” platform. The project aims to foster language skills, improve alphabet learning, and instill a love of words among schoolchildren through nationwide spelling competitions. Students from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad will participate alongside teachers and parents, helping to strengthen their confidence, focus, and self-expression.

The inauguration ceremony was held at HUM Network’s head office in Karachi in July, attended by journalists, dignitaries, and senior representatives from both HUM News and Nestlé NIDO. Notable attendees included, Consul of Italy, Fabrizio Bielli; Acting British Deputy Head of Mission, Pawan Dhande; and Rimsha Hussain from the Malaysian Consulate. From Nestlé NIDO, participants included Affan Cheema (Sr. Marketing Manager), Mahrah Rizwan (Sr. Brand Manager), and Taha Khan (Head of Media). HUM Network was represented by Arif Hussain (COO), Hassan Akbar (Head of Corporate Communications), and Sahar Saad (AVP, Special Projects and Events).

As part of the initiative, regional rounds are scheduled at HBL Auditoriums in Karachi (October 6–9, 11), Islamabad (October 14–15), and Lahore (October 17–18, 20). To extend the project’s reach, HUM News also partnered with Onederland, which signed on as the Official Entertainment Partner through a Memorandum of Understanding. The ceremony was attended by Onederland CEO Ammar Motan and Executive Director Ismail Eshai.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision: that a stronger foundation in language will create more informed, confident, and empowered generations in Pakistan.
