ICC announces all-female panel of umpires and referees for Women’s World Cup

ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the upcoming third ICC Women’s World Cup will be officiated by an all-female panel of umpires and match referees, a historic first for the tournament.
The global tournament, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, is set to begin on September 30 and will run through November 2, 2025.
The upcoming global tournament for women feature these Umpires and referees from nine different countries across the world.
According to the ICC statement, the all-female panel comprises 14 umpires and four match referees from nine different countries. This marks the largest contingent of female match officials ever announced for an ICC Women’s World Cup. This number surpassed the 13 who officiated at the 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE.
Match referees are four in total whose names are Trudy Anderson (New Zealand), Shandre Fritz (South Africa), GS Lakshmi (India) and Michell Pereira (Sri Lanka)

- Sue Redfern (England)
- Claire Polosak and Eloise Sheridan (Australia)
- Candace la Borde and Jacqueline Williams (West Indies)
- Kim Cotton (New Zealand)
- Sarah Dambanevana (Zimbabwe)
- Shathira Jakir Jesy (Bangladesh)
- Kerrin Klaaste and Lauren Agenbag (South Africa)
- N Janani, Vrinda Rathi, and Gayathri Venugopalan (India)
- Nimali Perera (Sri Lanka)
Polosak, Williams, and Redfern are set to officiate in their third ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, while Cotton and Agenbag will be appearing in their second, ICC said.

“While three recent events — the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the two most recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cups — featured all-female match official panels, this is the first time in the history of the Women’s World Cup that this milestone will be achieved,” the ICC said in a statement.
